The bug hit Scott early, when he was just 7 years old, spending evenings casting
poppers to aggressive Bluegills at the end of a Minnesota dock.
He recalls childhood memories of standing hip-deep in water on the gravel bar of a tiny river
in central MN, surrounded in a swarm of mosquitos, waiting for darkness and the Hex
hatch. Summers vacations were spent in Montana fishing the historic streams of the
west, trips that very well cemented fly fishing as lifelong passion.
Fast forward several years and you'll still find Scott with an affinity for fishing.
Over a decade in Colorado spent wade fishing and floating have given him a deep
understanding of the area and the likelihood of catching fish on any given day in
the Colorado Rockies. Scott caught the desire to float several years ago after
spending a day on the water with head guide, Mitch Melichar. He quickly found
himself enrolled in Cutthroats Guide School to build a new competency behind the
oars. Don't worry though, there's plenty of time behind the rod for Scott as well.
In Scott's own words, "I've found that perfect escape on the river, with new friends or
old." A welcome escape, as when Scott's not on the water you'll find him firmly
engaged in corporate life selling software to large corporations, trading days on
the golf course for water talks instead.
