Here is a short edit put together by our media team about fishing the Blue River during the cold winter months. Taylor Rounds is a local angler out of Leadville and just purchased his first new fly set up from us here at Cutthroat Anglers!
Featured in this flick is the Sage Approach 9ft 6wt fly rod, Ross Animas 5/6 reel, and Scientific Anglers Sharkwave GPX Fly line. You’ll also see some Rio leader and tippet and the beautiful Colorado edition Fishpond Nomad net. The Upbeat music from Zach Deputy will keep you warm and put a little pep in your step. We hope you enjoy!
Thank you for checking out the video, on some days the Blue can be a tricky place to land fish. Low/clear water, ease of access, and intelligent fish all play a big role in this. That being said, we all can still have great days on the water with slight adjustments to our normal fishing tendencies.
Study your water, take into account these tips, and remember to have fun with it! See you on the water!
