Our Drift n’ Ride adventure combines three authentic Colorado activities into an action packed two days. You’ll meet your guide for the next two days at Cutthroat Anglers in Silverthorne and head out for a day of float fishing on the Colorado River. Your guide will choose the stretch based on weather, hatch, and water conditions. Float trips are the best way to explore the Colorado River and a great way to introduce yourself to the sport. A typical day on the water covers 4-10 miles of water.
Following your float trip, drive to Sweetwater, CO where you’ll spend the night at our comfortable streamside lodge. Dinner will be on us, but don’t stay up too late—your morning ride starts at 7am after a hearty breakfast.
The Flattops Wilderness doesn’t give itself up easily, so we’ll join our friends at Flattops Wilderness Guides to access some of the most remote lakes and streams in the state, punctuated by native cutthroat and untouched by human hands. Traveling by horseback is a unique way to access unpressured waters, but what you’re most likely to remember is what it feels like to be surrounded by wilderness. Your wrangler will treat you to a home-style outfitter’s lunch, if we can tear you away from the water for a few moments. Fishing in the Flattops is on both small streams and alpine lakes, depending on your preference and conditions. Native cutthroat trout are the prized game fish, but wild brook trout also inhabit these waters.
This two day trip is perfect for families, friends, or couples that are looking to make the most of their time in Colorado, want to put a little adventure into their angling vacation, and get off the beaten path.
