A Cutthroat Anglers Picture Tour
Cutthroat Anglers is rich in history and we are happy to share a bit more about our shop via pictures. We got our start when Trapper Rudd purchased Araphoe Anglers in 1999. After a strategic move to the north side of i70, we settled in to the Silverthorne Town Center in late 2000. This move led us to our current 1800 square foot retail space situated on the Blue River.
The first thing you will notice when entering the shop is a 500 gallon tank full of Cutthroat Trout. It's kept at 48 degrees and holds cutties approaching two feet. The original idea behind the fish tank was to educate visitors on the different species of trout in our Colorado waters. Don't miss the armadillo sipping Lone Star above the tank..
You will also notice a barn-like structure built with wood from a 100 year old building in historic Leadville. Our office space/HQ is hidden within the barn See if you can spot the mountain lion lurking above..
If you turn back towards the front windows, you will witness one of the most impressive fly displays on planet earth. Trapper was a true believer that flies make the fly shop and that mentality has been engrained in our minds ever since. These bins hold over 200,000 hand tied flies.
As you walk past the flies, you will arrive to the techy side of the shop. We carry Simms and Patagonia boots for both men and women, Rio and Scientific Anglers fly line, and a healthy stock of Smith sunglasses.
The reel case is full of Abel, Ross, Lamson and Nautilus reels. We're proud to carry products from so many Colorado based companies.
The northwest side of the shop is home to packs, vests, nets, waders and rods. Fishpond is a Denver based company that makes the best nets and packs in the game..
The rod wall houses over 200 Scott, Winston, Sage and Temple Fork Outfitter Rods.
Last but not least, the accessory wall. All the toys, gadgets/tools you can dream up..
Thanks for taking the tour with us and our hope is next time its in person!
