Cutthroat Anglers Shop
Summit County’s favorite fly shop!
OUR SILVERTHORNE FLY FISHING SHOP
Cutthroat Anglers is the premier fly fishing shop and guide service in the state of Colorado. Based in Silverthorne, our shop has been a staple in Summit County for more than two decades.
When legendary fisherman Trapper Rudd first opened our doors on the banks of the Blue River in 1999, he started with the conviction that flies are the backbone of a solid fly fishing shop. Our selection of more than 150,000 flies is still something we’re proud to maintain all of these years later, and we still believe it’s why we’ve stayed the preferred shop of many local guides in the area – even ones outside of our roster.
We pride ourselves on our selection of gear, focusing on only the best brands for fly fishing enthusiasts of all levels and price points. In an interview with Colorado Life Magazine in the early 2000s, Trapper said, “We always try to get new products into the hands of our guides before we expose them to the customers.” That still remains true today. Our hope is that you never leave the shop with unanswered questions or empty hands.
Even though Trapper Rudd has since passed, if you visit the shop today, you’ll still see many of the other details he added that made Cutthroat a cult-classic in Summit County all those years ago. Behind the counter, you’ll still find wood from a more than 100 year-old Leadville barn. When you’re at the counter, don’t forget to look up! You’ll still see an antique canoe that Trapper intentionally hung upside down so people could see the wear and tear of a time-worn, well-loved boat hull. In fact, one of the most tenured guides at the shop used to jokingly tell customers that the boat was still used for “Basic Economy Float Trips.” We promise not to do that to you if you come to see us.
