Jack Specht

Jack grew up in the Chicago suburb of Glenview and has been enthralled with fishing from day one. Some of Jack's earliest memories are of him obsessing over anything fishing. In fact, he can remember the first bass he caught as a young kid and how it sparked it all. Over the past 20 plus years, Jack has spent countless hours exploring the Colorado Rockies, chasing lake Michigan steelhead, and harassing the many fish species of the midwest. After college, he went and worked a desk job where he quickly learned he needed to follow his dream of being a fly fishing guide. Ever since, Jack has been living the dream.

  • When I am not fishing I am either tying flies for the next adventure or trying to squeeze in a minute of sleep before getting back out there. Fishing is definitely an everyday thing for this guy. Jack jokingly says he needs to fish everyday to keep the voices from coming back. We sure hope he's kidding...

  • Favorite Technique: Swinging mice to hungry midwestern smallmouth once the corn and bean field start to get harvested. The mice flee the fields and holy smokes do the smallmouth key in on them. I have never seen a smallmouth be so aggressive.

  • I love to fish Colorado because there is a new adventure in every direction. The possibilities are endless and they are never the same.

  • I guide year round. Come book a winter trip with me!
