Gabe Morath

Gabe grew up splitting time between Denver and Silverthorne cutting his teeth on Summit County’s local waters fishing for trout, or fishing front range ponds for bass and carp. Now he attends college at Oregon State studying natural resources as well as learning to chase bull trout, steelhead and salmon. Put it simply Gabe will fish for just about anything if he can get it to take a fly. He still comes back to Colorado in the summers and over breaks as Silverthorne will always be home.

Hometown: Denver, CO

Favorite local spot: Various alpine lakes
and The Colorado river

Most used setup: Scott Centric, Scientific Anglers Amplitude Smooth, Ross reels Colorado LT.

Destinations fished: Ambergris Caye Belize, Michigan, Central Oregon, Montana.

When I’m not fishing: I enjoy snowboarding, hiking, camping, rafting, watching sports, and hanging out with family and friends.

I love to fish Colorado because: I love the variety in fishing from high alpine lakes to large western rivers to lowland bass and carp. Colorado has something different going on at all times.
