THE BEADHEAD PHEASANT TAIL WITH TRENT JONES
The Pheasant Tail is a classic mayfly pattern that is generally fished in a size 16 to size 22 to mimic blue wing olives, pale morning duns and caddis. This fly is commonly tied via natural fibers but try red, black and olive as well. Go with a beadhead for larger freestone rivers and tie this fly without a bead if you are looking to target technical tailwaters.
