About Cutthroat Anglers

Everybody’s got a story. Here’s ours.

Cutthroat Anglers is the premier fly fishing shop and guide service in the state. Based in Silverthorne, Colorado, our shop has been a staple in Summit County for more than two decades. When legendary fisherman Trapper Rudd first opened our doors on the banks of the Blue River in 1999, fly fishing enthusiasts and guides gathered from across the state to what they called “The Clubhouse.” They frequently gathered around the wooden table in the back of our shop — wet waders and all — to swap fishing secrets, stories and (undoubtedly) a tall tale or two.

While in many ways that legacy remains true today, we are now proud to be a place where beginners can congregate just as confidently as the seasoned pros. Even if you’ve never held a fly rod in your life, we invite you to come visit us and learn more as you browse the finest fly fishing gear you can find in the state of Colorado.

Our shop is just one piece of the puzzle, though. There’s a reason that the people of Summit County have voted Cutthroat Anglers the “Best Fly Fishing Outfitter” for the last ten years in a row — it’s because our guides are the very best in the Rockies. Put simply, we have a team full of true fly fishing folks, with the rivers of Colorado practically running through their veins. Our world-class guides have led thousands of groups — from first-timers to expert anglers — through what we’ve found to be the most expansive roster of water access in the area. Click here to learn more about our guides, and click here to explore our water access

As we move further into the future, our hope is to fulfill the needs of any fly fisherman on the water and on the internet. If you don’t have time to plan a visit or book a trip with us, you can still learn everything there is to know about the area through our blog and weekly fishing reports. Whether you are planning your next Summit County fly fishing trip or a trip to another hemisphere, we know that the staff at Cutthroat Anglers can cater to any of your fly fishing needs.
