Blue River North of Town
Fishing Report
UPDATED: 7/21/2025
Flow: 230+cfs River Graph
The Blue River North of Silverthorne town limits contains some beautiful public water and breathtaking views. Unfortunately, it does not boast the highest trout population in some of its public sections. This does not mean there are no fish to be caught, but you may have to be patient and work a little harder to hook up. However, you do always have the shot at hooking the fish of a lifetime, a large trout that usually reside in private sections of the Blue sometimes venture into public waters. Happy hunting.

Guide Tip of the Week:
Fishing on the lower middle blue has been productive at times this season! Small dark stoneflies, caddis, and drake patterns are all on the menu. We have been seeing some opportunistic eats lately north of town so don’t be afraid to try some bigger stonefly/leech patterns. You can try throwing streamer patterns as well if you’re looking for a bigger springtime cutbow or brown. Don’t be surprised if the water stains in the afternoon when the summer monsoons roll through. When you see off colored water, size up flies and go a little darker. And don’t forget the trusty Squirmy Worm!
